Before you visit
Questions, answered.
The useful stuff in one place: reservations, kids, dogs, tasting, the farm, shipping, ordering, groups, gift cards and what to try first.
What should I try first?
The signature starting point is Spruce Tip Blonde Ale, brewed with young Sitka spruce tips. For food, the brewery is known for Alaska seafood including halibut fish and chips made with Spruce Tip Ale batter.
Is Skagway Brewing family friendly?
Yes. The restaurant publicly describes itself as family friendly and maintains a kids menu. Alcohol service remains subject to Alaska law.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are accepted after 4 PM through the online reservation system. Walk-in availability varies. Parties of nine or more should contact the brewery directly.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome in the beer garden after 3 PM under the posted rules. They must use the 4th Avenue beer-garden entrance/exit, stay leashed, remain off furniture and tables, and avoid disruptive or aggressive behavior.
Do you ship beer?
Not currently. Packaged beer may be available to purchase in Skagway. Cruise visitors should verify their cruise line alcohol policy before buying beer to bring onboard.
What is the beer tasting?
The published tasting is $25 and lasts about 45 minutes. It includes four beer samples, brewing stories, sustainability information and a tour of the onsite aeroponic farm. Guests must be 21 or older to sample beer, and non-alcoholic options are available.
What is the indoor farm?
Skagway Brewing operates a 70-panel aeroponic farm on the third floor. The brewery says it averages about 250 pounds of fresh greens per week and reuses brewing CO2 in the growing environment.
Is there a gluten-free fryer?
No designated gluten-free fryer is advertised. Guests with allergies or celiac disease should speak directly with the restaurant team before ordering because cross-contact can occur.
Can I order food online?
Yes. Pickup ordering is handled through Toast, which is also the best source for same-day item availability, modifiers and sold-out items.
Do you sell gift cards and merch?
